Rix Rocks Nightlife at Disney

July 12, 2010

ORLANDO -- When someone new in town asks you where the best places are to go out at night, is Rix at the top of your list?  Chances are, probably not.

Not because it’s a forgettable spot or that it’s not worth the drive, but maybe simply - because it is in fact 21.6 miles from Downtown Orlando.

If Rix were downtown, chances are it would be just as packed as the Bliss’ and 23’s of Orange Avenue and Church Street.  That being said, grab a few friends and take the drive over and you'll be there before you know it!

As soon as you walk through their massive entrance, you notice Rix is a rare spot in Orlando nightlife.

The authentic Mexican decor is the first thing that catches your eye, and you quickly become immersed a lounge that oozes trendy-ness and sophistication.  Not to mention, on busy nights the energy on the dance floor will keep you grooving all night long.

Since Rix is located inside the Coronado Springs Resort they do see a good number of convention guests at the lounge, but Thursday and Friday nights are popular with the local crowd.

If partying with the common-folk isn't your style or you want your own exclusive event, you can rent out a room at Rix.  Las Ventanas, a stunning private room, is adjacent to the main lounge areas.  Host a cocktail party there with one-hundred people, or bring in a max of seventy-five people for a sit down dinner.  A $1,000 minimum in food and drinks, and the room is yours.

Here's a few tips for making the most of your night at Rix:

  • Parking is free so save those extra dollars for food (tapas style) or drinks inside
  • There's never a cover unless it's a special event
  • There's no official dress code but flip flops, shorts and tank tops aren't recommended
  • The Rix Royale and Rix Boquet are among some of their specialty drinks
  • Check the Rix Facebook Page for updated special events at the venue
